Welcome to Hope In Fertility and Happy Resurrection Sunday. It is so fitting to begin my blog on the day we celebrate the reason for our eternal hope, Jesus Christ! I am filled with great expectation for all of the wonderful things I’ll share here with you.

I was raised in a Christian home in Saginaw, MI, attended church regularly and accepted Christ at an early age. But as an adult, I’ve learned the true value of the price Christ paid on the cross. This time of year acknowledges that He came to pay a debt that we could have never paid. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 He endured the cross that we might experience the abundant life now and for eternity.

As I reflect on it, I can imagine that His death on the cross had to have looked like a complete failure. The King appeared to be defeated and His reign brought to an end. However, this could not have been further from the truth! While He lay in the tomb, the battle of all battles was being fought and won. He rose from the dead just as He said He would. Perhaps you are in your own battle and it seems that infertility as winning. As you acknowledge your struggle to grow your family, it may seem like you are a complete failure. I ‘ve been on this battlefield for years and I know what that looks like and how that feels.

However, like Christ, maybe our battle is being fought in a place that our eyes can’t see. Our reigning King has assured us that victory is certain. Perhaps it looks different than we expect or it’s taking longer than we would like. But, I encourage you to view your situation with more than your natural eyes and celebrate the victories you’ve won and those you will assuredly win. Today, I celebrate that despite what it looks like infertility has not overtaken me. I celebrate that I still have an expectation for my family to grow. Today, I celebrate victory in Jesus Christ because He is Risen!

Hope-Filled Thought: My belief in Jesus Christ gives me assurance for today and an expectation for tomorrow.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Christ for dying on the cross for my sins and rising from the dead for my victory. Increase my trust in you and help me to grow in faith. You said in John 10:10, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I receive it and it is so, Amen.
