In our day to day lives, we are surrounded by people. We workout side by side. We wait in line behind each other at the coffeehouse and the grocery store. We sit across from each other’s cubicle and teach next door to each other’s room. We spend so much time in other people’s company but we rarely connect.

We see each other but to really see each other? Most people are fighting battles that we know nothing about. This month we have an opportunity to share the battle we fight so valiantly with others. National Infertility Awareness Week is this month, April 21 – 29, 2019. This year’s theme is #InfertilityUncovered.

I am committed to uncover infertility to those who see me regularly. I am at a place where I am comfortable with being the face of the 1 in 8 for those in my circle. I recognize that everyone cannot say the same and that is okay. I will speak up for them. I will remind those around me that they know others whose hearts ache for a baby. I will remind them that the grief we manage is devastating and difficult. I will not only share what infertility looks like but I will empower them with ways they can support those they know and the infertility at large.

Please consider how you can uncover infertility this month. Maybe you will become a social media warrior. Maybe you will arrange a bulletin board at your workplace or local library with infertility facts and resources. Maybe you will attend a local support group meeting and work with them to make an impact as a group.

I recognize that people know me but they don’t know infertility. This month I will do what I can to change that!

HOPE-Filled Thought: No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:37 NLT

Prayer: Thank you Lord that you have empowered me to face every obstacle that infertility presents. Your Word says that the overwhelming victory is mine and I believe it. Help me to share this victory to encourage others. I receive this strength with joy and it is so. Amen.
